Started shooting precision rifle competitions this year. Always ran Lapua brass in my 260 Remington built by Surgeon Rifles. My handloads for competitions were always round 5 S.D. and an Es of around 11-12 FPS. I had the lucky opportunity to try Alpha Munitions brass through a friend who is getting into PRS type matches. He let me steal 30 cases. First I weighed the cases on my Gempro, and they were all within .2 grains! Overall length of the cartridges were right on the money, and the primer pockets were the most consistent I have ever seen. After chamfering the inside of the case necks, I decided to load up my normal match load. 42.2 Grains of H4350, 130 Grain Berger Hybrid, CCI Br-2 primer, and COAL of 2.8015. I shot all 30 rounds on the Magneto speed. My S.D was 2.4 FPS and ES of 7! Unbelievable if you think of 30 rounds! Now I’m trying to sell all my lapua casings so I can get Alpha! Go with Alpha because being on top is all that matters! 😉

I use this brass in my .308 win and love it. I turned the necks on the .260 as I do on ALL of my brass; nothing else and this stuff shot almost identical to my other loads, actually a tad better. I know Alpha is making several types of brass now. I can only hope they add 6XC, as that is my match round. If they do I will go to a funeral home and wait to die, cause there will be nothing to live for!!
